Coronavirus affected outdoor access in Scotland deeply during 2020-21, and in 2021 accommodation, food outlets and public transport were all subject to distancing and hygiene measures. By 2023, restrictions had been lifted but many B&B providers had retired or gone over to self-catering. For up-to-date information on accessing the outdoors in Scotland, please refer to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
